I'm okay with doing that.
Is it okay to have *JUST* that link?

Can we add an ORCID id to our profile?  There are probably many informal
(adhoc) ways of doing this now.
I tried with the: editexternalresources, but it seems I can't just make up
new tags.  I added it to my profile.

It might still be nice to do whatever dance ORCID would like so that the IETF
becomes a more clear source for ORCID.

It appears that for some publications, ORCID gets my info automagically.
I can otherwise update my list via adding via our doi... and maybe I'll
research the API for doing that.
