If you've set B and C to static addresses in the 10.40.0.0 subnet, then
obviously you have to change one or the other. The bridge doesn't have
a gateway or DNS, that's a setting for the clients.
The bizarre thing is that I cannot switch the bridge from Automatic to manual
with nm-connection-editor, neither with network manager !!!
I tried 10.40.0.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.1
Is there something wrong here ?
10.40.0.1 and 10.40.0.2 are already used by "enp1s0" and "enp2s0"
I don't know what you're doing, but you keep describing exactly what I'm
saying not to do...
Only use nm-connection-editor for now.
Remove any ethernet connections except the USB one. That USB one should
be set to Automatic (DHCP) in IPv4.
Create or open the bridge. Set it to "Shared to other computers" in
IPv4. Add an address, set it to 10.40.0.1 with netmask 24.
Go to the Bridge tab. Click add. Choose ethernet, Create. Under
Device, select enp1s0, click save.
Click add. Choose ethernet, Create. Under Device, select enp2s0, click
save.
Save everything. Close the app. Run "systemctl restart NetworkManager".
You are done with PC A.
On PC B, you can use the network config. Set the connection to manual.
Use 10.40.0.2 netmask 24, gateway 10.40.0.1, DNS 10.40.0.1.
On PC C, you can use the network config. Set the connection to manual.
Use 10.40.0.3 netmask 24, gateway 10.40.0.1, DNS 10.40.0.1.
Everything should be working.
