Dear Colleagues,
The AGU Fall Meeting abstract submission season is upon us, and we
encourage you to submit to our session on EM imaging and monitoring of
volcanic systems! We hope this session will bring together scientists
working at the intersection of electromagnetism and volcanology.
*The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, July 30 at 23:59
EDT. *First
authors may submit two abstracts as long as they are in different sections.

*GP003: Electromagnetic Imaging and Monitoring of Volcanic Systems
<https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu25/prelim.cgi/Session/252119>*
Electromagnetic (EM) data are particularly sensitive to the presence of
hydrothermal fluids and magma, making EM methods ideal tools for studying
active volcanic systems. The advances and insights EM methods bring to our
understanding of volcanic systems will be highlighted in this session. From
mud volcanoes to larger, magmatic eruptions at high-profile volcanoes,
abstracts on all volcanic systems are welcome. We invite abstracts
regarding imaging of volcanoes via EM methods, with particular interest in
magnetotelluric (MT), airborne electromagnetic (AEM), and marine controlled
source electromagnetic (CSEM) studies. We also call for abstracts on
temporal EM methods focused on volcano monitoring. Studies that capitalize
on joint inversion of EM datasets with other geophysical data are highly
encouraged.
*Section:** Geomagnetism, Paleomagnetism and Electromagnetism*
*Cross Listed: **Volcanology, Geochemistry, and Petrology*

Sincerely, the session conveners,
Jae Deok Kim (MIT - WHOI)
 Jade Crosbie (USGS â?? Denver)
Ninfa Bennington (USGS â?? Hawaiian Volcano Observatory)
Jared Peacock (USGS â?? Moffett Field)
