Extensional Systems through Space and Time: From Magma Genesis to Surface Expression Session Description: Extensional tectonic settings provide valuable insights into the interplay between tectonic, magmatic, and surface processes. These environments host a wide spectrum of volcanic and magmatic activity, shaped by diverse crustal and mantle conditions. Advancing our understanding of these complex systems requires an interdisciplinary contribution from petrology, volcanology, geochemistry, geodynamics, and related fields. This session invites interdisciplinary studies that explore rift and extensional systems through fieldwork, remote sensing, laboratory analyses, and both analog and numerical modeling. We particularly welcome research focused on comparative analyses across extensional provinces, coupling of volcanic and tectonic processes, magmatic evolution, and investigations with implications for volcanic hazard assessment.
