Well, yeah, that's why some of us want to add the ORCIDs to the RFCs we write.

I don't see any reasonable way for ORCID to let you add a dead address.  They've issued
14 million ORCIDs so anything that needs manual inspection (look at the address on this
thing I wrote 20 years ago) won't scale.
