The long term problem we are working on here is important, but it shouldn't come at the cost of inconveniences for short/medium term usage. And most use of RFCs is short/medium term, in the sense that for a large percentage of actual usages, the email address in the RFC is still valid. Several RFCs put an Orcid in the URI field of the author’s address. RFC 7990, for example. Colin
