I'm assuming you're neither a gang member nor an advocate for a terrorist organization. As far as I know, these are the only types of people that have been affected by any adverse actions, and the only thing that's happened, even to them, is removal from the US.

Well...  one of the reasons this is in the court system in the US is because that at least one person who was ejected for being an "advocate for a terrorist organization" wasn't - he was a green card holder and was supporting Palestinians, not Hamas.

With respect to the gang members - well - according to the Alien Expulsion act, they would be considered invading soldiers of Venezuela.    Reading the text of the statute, I'm unclear why any Venezualans are still in the US given that interpretation. That's also in the court system with the US being required to provide proof of gang membership for all deported, and an explanation of why the gov't violated the rules of the AEA.

Then there's the doctoral student who was visiting home and made the mistake of attending a funeral for a Hamas member - no a single piece of evidence of advocacy, just guilt by association. Deported back to Lebanon via Paris...

It's actually useful to read the court cases or at least sources like the AP or BBC for the details.  I would suggest you were provided a slanted summary of the reality.

Later, Mike
