Sara Callegaro). We are seeking for an enthusiast PhD candidate that will work on experimental petrology and synchrotron microfluorescence analysis to investigate sulfur partitioning between common magmatic mineral phases and silicate melts, and on isotope geochemistry (Sr-Nd-Pb-Os) of magmas from Large Igneous Provinces (mainly Karoo and the Oslo Rift). The research focus can be further tailored to the candidateâ??s own interests and strengths. The title of the project will be: *"Tracing volcanic winters from a within-magma perspective: sulfur-in-clinopyroxene and isotope geochemistry of magmas from Large Igneous Provinces." * Previous experience with igneous petrology and geochemistry is welcome, but not mandatory. The ideal candidate has willingness to travel, thrives in the lab, and has good oral and written English skills. The net salary is 1310 Euro per month, with a supplementary stipend for periods abroad. This PhD opportunity comes with a large research allowance, being linked to an ERC grant.
