I should have added that in a system with multiple users and multiple DEs, sourcing 'export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct' in any system-wide global area likely will irritate the users who do not use TDE. Best to source in $TDEHOME/env where only TDE is affected and only for that user.
