It wants to remove desktop-base. Not wise i think. And scary.
How to proceed ?
Hi Frans,
It depends exactly what command you are using and what you want
to do. If you install the full tde-trinity then desktop-base
would probably be replaced by desktop-base-trinity.
However, while my laptop has most of TDE plus some Gnome apps
such as GnuCash and GIMP it currently has neither desktop-base
nor desktop-base-trinity and it's working fine. They seem to
be optional wallpapers and themes and such like.
I have both TDE and KDE installed on a debian bookworm desktop, and
desktop-base is not installed. desktop-base-trinity is installed. KDE was
installed during the initial debian installation; TDE was added immediately
afterwards.
I almost never use KDE, but it's there in case I need it (and some of its
programs I find sufficiently better than the TDE versions that I use the KDE
versions instead); as far as I know, both KDE and TDE, which is my usual
desktop, are working as they should.
P.S. I've been using TDE for roughly 15 years and I love it.
Ditto.
