I read draft-sayre-modpod-summary-00. The draft argues that
automated summaries of IETF contributions are often useful and list
mailing list digests as an example. Mailing list digests are of a
daily concatenation of email messages sent to a mailing list, i.e. it
is not an automated summary. The weekly summary of ietf@xxxxxxxx
mail traffic is more of a count of who sent mail to that mailing list
over a week instead of a summary of the email discussions.
The draft argues that automated summaries should be transferred to
the Tools Team if those summaries are critical to an IETF
effort. The weekly Github digest are sent by a bot with a
do_not_reply@ email address. I suggest seeking the views of the
owner of the bot.
This thread is the only discussion over the past four weeks which
resulted in a draft. There is at least something positive that came
out of a discussion.
