Hi,

All very good reasons to make sure that the online participation is as much a consideration as onsite participation.

One population to consider in attendance at SFO is those in the US with visas who are best advised to avoid travel at the moment if they want to reman in the US for studies, family, jobs or whatever reason they remain in the US. I think there will be enough people, with an international mix, safely onsite in SFO for a decent hybrid (onsite & online) meeting. But I would suggest avoiding long range planning for the US and would put thought into how to incorporate into the hybrid meeting, some of those values gained during the Covid period of online meeting.

Just as there are varied financial and political considerations, there are also varied personal considerations for avoiding an onsite presence. The US border is one best avoided by many already in the country, at least at the moment.  People should be free to choose their own basket of considerations while knowing that they can still participate and contribute to the work. The need to make sure the meetings are designed for a hybrid environment seems paramount moving into a future that may continue to be very turbulent.

So grateful to be able to participate online on the wonderful meetecho platform.
