(as an individual) IMO this seems to establish a problematic precedent to setup a boycott website about the IETF - which seems it can only serve to harm the reputation of the IETF. We have community feedback mechanisms and so far, it appears they are working perfectly well - starting with a lot of comments at the mic line in the 122 plenary and emails on the mailing list. I might expect a 'boycott' sort of thing if stakeholders felt ignored or stymied, but that seems far from the case here. Several people since voiced general support of it as a form of finding consensus. However, there were also some concerns regarding the specific wording of some parts of the text. We discussed these concerns and associated suggestions for changing the text today. Based on the feedback, we concluded that the wording was indeed prone to misunderstanding and born out of the strong personal reaction to having her visa revoked and receiving a life-time ban of entry based on personal identity. In the spirit of continuously refining text, we hence reworded the document to make the intent more clear; - It is not about abstract threats, but instead concerns tangible action that has been taken by the US administration which makes crossing the US border inherently unsafe for some attendees. - The site should serve a bottom-up consensus finding within the community on criteria to assess the impact of the ongoing developments and the impact it has on peoples ability and willingness to attend a meeting in the US. We thank everyone who brought up that feedback, and of course also appreciate any further input and suggestions on the current wording as well ('Please send text.' ;-)). With best regards, Tobias
