And for sympol, the only dependency is polymake, and they seem to be constantly changing their bundled version, maybe you should bundle it too instead. Yes, those two projects are, if not dead, at least mortally wounded. There actually has been some VCS activity on coin-or-lemon, but upstream has not released a new version in a long time. I will check on spasm and polymake to see if we can drop those packages.
