On Mate, there's an option that if I hit the CTRL key the mouse gets animated bubbles drawn around it. On a Mac, there's an option that if you shake the mouse it makes the pointer very big. On some desktop (I can't remember which), an aid for the vision-impaired draws crosshairs from the mouse pointer to every edge of the screen. *Some* kind of find my mouse function is *very* handy. I've got those googlie "eyes" on my taskbar. Every now and then mine goes nuts and madly scrambles around the screen. The optical sensor gets confused by my (real) desktop, and if fluff or a hair gets curled up and caught under the optics that can make things erratic. On an older PC, that still had PS/2 mice, Linux was very bad at handling my mouse, whereas Windows was perfectly fine.
