A year or 2 ago my 660 card was acting up, forget how.
I decided to replace it with something newer but as similar
as possible.  I ended up with the Geforce GTX 1660 Super.


Did you have any particular reason for choosing Nvidia again?
Why not AMD, which is supported without the hassle of drivers?

Really, AMD doesn't use drivers for its cards :-))


I started using NV back in the dark ages, with Solaris x86.
Unlike many reports I've never had problems or reasons to switch.
The (a)kmod system in use today just works for me very consistently
and is so much easier than the previous way of downloading bits
from the NV site and linking/compiling them for the current kernel.
That was a bit of a bother but it worked fine too.
