Old and the New, Long and the Short: Perspectives on Integration of Timescales of Magmatic Processes: Special Session Related to MGPV Awards to Madison Myers and Anita Grunder"* at GSA Connects 2025. This session invites contributions that explore the lifespans and evolution of volcanic and plutonic systems, rates of thermal and material recharge, magma differentiation, and eruption timing. *Our invited speakers include Drs. Mary Reid and Hannah Shamloo.** The deadline for abstracts is August 5, 2025. * *Here is our abbreviated session description:* From the protracted assembly of batholiths and plutons to the short-lived dynamics of volcanic eruptions, magmatic processes span vast temporal scales. Although techniques have been developed that shed light into unique processes, there are several phases within this lifespan for which we have limited insights. In this session we aim to highlight how diverse analytical techniques provide distinct constraints, and by pairing multiple tools we can integrate complementary aspects of magmatic systems to create dynamic understanding of the processes that fuel magmatic systems. A key focus will be on the challenges and opportunities for integrating these temporal perspectives to build a cohesive understanding of magmatic evolution. We encourage papers that address these challenges, offering new insights into the interplay between timescales, methodologies, and processes, and highlight broad application.
