The NSF-funded "The interplay of surface evolution, shallow magmatism, a
large hydrothermal system, and hazards at Puyehue-Cordon Caulle Volcanic
Complex, Chile" includes a participation component that invites US- and
Chile-based scientists to conduct their own complementary research projects
within the overall scope of the project. Participants will receive
transportation to and from the field, including their instrumentation, and
be part of the overall research team during the collaborative field
campaign(s). No salary or tuition support is part of this participation.

The PI-Team specifically seeks students, but may be extended to
early-career researchers with interests in:

Post-eruptive ecology and landscape recovery, hydrogeology, geophysical
methods that link to ongoing activity (reach out to PIs Ruprecht,
Pritchard, and Biasi as main organizers of these efforts), including but
not limited to electric field studies.

We seek applicants to provide a 1-2 page motivational research statement.
Interested scientists are encouraged to reach out to the PIs mentioned
above to discuss potential research ideas.

The submission form can be found at: https://qrto.org/s8Mbak

If selected, the students (and their advisors) are expected to participate
in virtual group meetings leading up to and following the field work. The
goal is to integrate their findings with the work that is conducted by the
multi-disciplinary team (currently 20-30 people) and prepare collaborative
research publications.

Future in-person group meetings are planned, and it is anticipated that
funds will be available to include the participants in these activities.

More information about the project and its members can be found at:
