Using volcanic deposits to help us understand volcanic and magmatic processes Abstract submissions open May 1 and last until August 5. Session Description: This session invites presentations that leverage volcanic deposits to reconstruct magmatic and eruptive processes. We welcome contributions from field and experimental volcanology, petrology, geochemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, ranging from the landform to nanoscale. Our goal is to bring together a diverse group of scientists to hopefully serve as a catalyst for collaboration and development of integrated studies to test and refine emerging models for magmatic and volcanic processes. We solicit a wide range of contributions, including but not limited to field and experimental volcanology, petrology, geochemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, that shed light on the storage, transport, and eruption of magma and its emplacement and preservation in volcanic and subvolcanic environments.
