Numerical Modelling of Volcanic Hydrothermal Gas Dispersion* The ANR-funded IHYDE project is offering a 24-month post-doctoral position at the *Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans* (Université Clermont Auvergne, France), starting from September 2025. The role involves numerical modelling of Hâ??S gas dispersion from La Soufrière (Guadeloupe) and Mombacho (Nicaragua) volcanoes using DISGAS and Meso-NH codes. The aim is to assess long-term population exposure to volcanic gas emissions and their health impacts. The candidate will simulate gas dispersion under various meteorological scenarios, develop a chemical modelling module, and help produce hazard maps for public health planning. Experience in numerical modelling, atmospheric chemistry, and scientific computing (especially Python and HPC environments) is preferred but not essential.
