First Edition* *The School* The school will host between 12 and 16 participants and will be held in English. Selection will be carried out according to the following strict priority order: 1. PhD students in Earth and Environmental Sciences 2. Masterâ??s students in Earth and Environmental Sciences 3. Postdoctoral researchers in the same fields 4. Other applicants Within each category, selection will be based on the order of registration. *Organizers* Fabio L. Bonali and Luca Fallati (DISAT â?? University of Milano-Bicocca) Emanuela De Beni and Massimo Cantarero (INGV â?? Etna Observatory, Catania) *Partners* TECLA Project International Lithosphere Program (ILP) Italian Geological Society Agisoft LLC CRUST CRUST - Interuniversity Center for 3D Seismotectonics with territorial applications Etna Cableway *General Program* The five-day program focuses on the use of drones and immersive virtual reality as innovative tools for scientific research, monitoring, and the study of active volcanic areas. Activities will take place on the flanks of Mount Etna. These models will be used for GIS analyses and immersive virtual reality techniques, aimed at improving data interpretation and visualization. The school will also provide specific training on the production and georeferencing of models using high-precision GPS, ensuring accurate spatial positioning for scientific applications. The program is divided into three main modules: â?¢ Theoretical sessions in the classroom to introduce key concepts and methodologies â?¢ Field activities focused on data acquisition and drone surveying techniques â?¢ Laboratory sessions for data processing, model generation, and integration in virtual reality *Logistics* Transportation info: https://etnadronevr.unimib.it/transportation/ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://etnadronevr.unimib.it/transportation/__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!dEsuGa8Jnq5W2U3oyyTutZLNfzwBJUHSg5Fl9eqIS3kpquo0VuiJewdu84AAIwgMS2Lvc9d0tb1AYqsM7OXRsa8Qck2N$> â?¢ Arrival: September 28, 2025 â?¢ School dates: September 29 â??
