We would like to call your attention on a conference on physical
volcanology â??Volcanic processes: A variety of length and time scalesâ??
organized by ICTP -East African Institute for Fundamental Research in
Kigali, Rwanda the first week of September (01-05 Sep.2025).

This event is supported by the French National Research Institute for
Sustainable Development (IRD), IGCP-UNESCO, GDR Rift, INGV, IAVCEI, the
University of Rwanda and the National Council for Science and Technology
(NCST).

This conference will cover a wide range of topics related to volcanic
processes from the subsurface to the atmosphere to volcanic particles and
soils using a physical lens. Topics will include multiphase
flows, theoretical and numerical modelling of subsurface magma
propagation, volcanic-induced seismic signals and surface displacement
analysis, volcanic emissions dispersion modelling, volcanic lake
dynamics, soil particle-water interactions, and relationships
between volcanic eruptions and climate and volcanic environment and health.

Young scientists from developing countries, especially Africa, are invited
to apply on the ICTP registration website:
