Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the next session of the CONVERSE ER Spring 2025
Webinar Series. Our webinar series aims to provide a platform for graduate
students and early career scientists to share their research and develop
new skills relevant to the field of volcanic science.

The next webinar will be presented by *Claudia Corradino* from Istituto
Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia.

*Title:* Towards improved volcanic hazards monitoring and nowcasting using
Artificial Intelligence and multispectral satellite imagery
*Time:* March 11, 2025 at 4 PM EDT (UTC-4)

*Please, register for this and upcoming webinars at: *

(No re-registration required if you have already signed up to previous
sessions this Spring)

*Bio and summary:* Claudia Corradino is a researcher at the Etna Volcano
Observatory (INGV-EVO), where she leads the Volcano Satellite Monitoring
Research Unit. After she graduated in Neurotechnology Engineering in 2014
at Imperial College London, she received her PhD in 2018 at the University
of Catania. Her research interests focus on Artificial Intelligence for
Volcano Monitoring from Space, and she is currently involved in developing
AI-based solutions for the volcano operational thermal data products for
the NASA Surface Biology and Geology (SBG) mission. In this webinar,
Claudia will show how Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a key role in the
field of volcano monitoring in extracting meaningful information and
gaining new insights from large volumes of satellite data at different
spatial and temporal resolutions. She will explore the potential of AI for
the near real-time monitoring and nowcasting of the evolution of volcanic
activity using a variety of satellite sensors.
