The inatructions given above by E. Liddell work for me, too. I can right-click 
on any button in the location bar, and I get a Toolbar Menu.

Last in the list under the header is Configure Toolbars. When I open that, I 
get a double-panel window of choices. Near the top is a header that 
says "Toolbar:" (with colon at the end of word), and underneath it is another 
menu, for which I see only "Location Toolbar <Konqueror>"; please note the 
tiny downwards-pointing arrow at right side of this menu. 

Click on that arrow, and you get a list of choices. For some reason, I cannot 
show you this last menu in full using ksnapshot. (I did use the delay timer 
this time!) But I clicked on the "Search Toolbar <searchbar>" choice, and 
took a snapshot of that.
