I was wondering about exactly that possibility. I had not experimented with
that feature of ksnapshot. I'll give it a try later.
It would have saved me some bother.
Short note:
ksnapshot (as many of the kde3/tde tool are) is an amazingly flexible
screenshot tool. It's delay and various, region, active window, desktop
settings cover just about any situation you can think of. It's best
feature is it is not based on kUniqueApplication, so you can start a 2nd
instance and take a snapshot of any issue you are having with it.
This was a distinct drawback and limitation of the follow-on ocular
in kde4.
Also - William, BINGO! button-text and button-background are indeed
the settings for just about any of the pop-up menus, buttons, etc.. You
mentioning going through the list joggled my memory of painstakingly
going setting-by-setting through that list to finish off my theme. (and
then saving the kcolortheme and ktheme afterwards)
One additional note there, is just about every plugin has separate
settings that have to be adjusted (konqueror advanced text preview,
etc..) that ultimately create a block of settings in tdeglobals for each.
It would be well worth the time if any gifted soul wanted to see if
there was a way to add-to, improve the color/text settings available to
the desktop. That has long been on my wish-list along with some
scriptable to set konsole tab-color without having to right-click the
tab first :)
Good discussion all!
