Looks like the problem here is patch 5e93834982, which was initial support for adding tabs to kpdf. Printing works fine again after compiling without the patch. I don't have all of the patches for the upcoming tab support so possibly my bug is a one-off and the problem was resolved with the subsequent patches. Regardless I left a comment in gitea.
