I guess I should specify they are vertical rolling shutters.

Did I miss the start of a conversation about "rolling shutter"? I have been "deciphering" the effect when it first came to global consciousness by the photograph of Henri Lartigue of a race car. His was a true rolling shutter. Digital ones are simulations! :) After a number of introductory illustrations my final one looks like this:
