Roy,
It is a ping pong ball. I used a Triopo flash that at very low power operated at 40 flashes per second but at that rate it only flashed for 1 second. Counting the separate images yields 40. The camera shutter was open for longer than that ... maybe 2 or 3 seconds. The high quality velvet background absorbed so much light that it did not bleed through the individual images ... hardly anyway.
