Yeah that would be one ancient screen.  Like the Mid 1980s on apples first laptops.  

96 would be on the low end and apple retina would be around 220.

That means I have to drag a corner to see the entire width.

Vertically it means on a 15” laptop one can’t see the entire photo without adjusting screen resolution.

5x7.5x100dpi is plenty big enough.
