Hello!
As Kathleen mentioned, recordings (as well as all materials) for all IETF 123 sessions are available here for anyone:
in both video-only ("Video recording") and Meetcho (“Session recording”) formats.
There’s also an IETF 123 playlist on the IETF YouTube channel:
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC86T-6ZTP5hPatJME_aExmXbeURxpfh8&feature=shared
(as well as playlists for past meetings).
Regards,

Hello Mike, As an fyi, sessions are recorded and you can find them both in meetecho format to see the chat and are posted on YouTube without the chat. This meeting cycle was far too busy in the security area, so I’m going back to watch sessions I was unable to attend. I also have used plenary talk recordings in lectures as an adjunct professor. Having this recordings available indefinitely has been very helpful, to your point. Hi all,
So the other day I was looking at the video materials for Pecha Kucha, and to be honest I quite liked its contents. I like that the IETF has this sense of self-reflection, and that it was recorded too.
As a small, independent operator, I thought that I might have something to add to that.
So every time I see discussions about implementing protocols, I see this "big server men" mantra being rehearsed. That "you are relevant to me only if you are representing big corporation X or Y, else get out of here". And to be honest, what a surprise. It's a standardization body, where the norm should indeed be implementers. And who in their right mind is going to spend millions worth of R&D outside of a funded corporate payroll? That's right, this idiot called yours truly did, for 8 years so far. I want to self-incorporate, in an idiotic and Microsoft-infested economy called Belgium. Yes, I am an idiot. But I aspire to be an entrepreneurial idiot. Even more of an idiot.
Looking back at IETF 123, it was a great event. I love that Pecha Kucha was recorded in full. I love that I am able to watch it again in my own time. This is how I look back at FOSDEM events too, even if I am a physical attendant to those events (which often I am). I just.. like being able to take the subject matter of those events in, at a pace that's much slower than the realtime "barrage" of content. It really is a lot to take in.
As such, I would like to place further emphasis on recording of event venues. Considering that recording equipment already has to be established for remote attendance through Meetecho, I would imagine recording streams from those cameras to be not too difficult. I, for one, would like to see those recordings, as an addition to the remote stream given to, well, remote attendants. Bonus points if, like FOSDEM, they're published to sites like YouTube, and help drive further attendance.
Met vriendelijke groet, Michael De Roover
