Not sure yet I will be able to join the next tools call.
Thinking some more about this.
I guess that most of us are interested mainly in the recent videos (like in my case, to create the meeting minutes).
So, if the cost (of a new hosting solution) is an issue, one possibility is to keep using Youtube for posterity but to host the recent videos in a different place, without login. Let's say a year or two (5 or 6 face-to-face meetings + interim).
https://meetecho-player.ietf.org/playout/ would have to point to that different location for recent meetings.

Bringing several threads together:
We are (and have been for some time) looking for other streaming solutions to use in addition to YouTube. We are taking the requirements for unhindered access into account in that search, particularly in light of YouTube's recent changes in requirements to view videos.
Video streaming will be a topic at next week's (10 June) Tools Team call. Those calls often cover topics like this one and more participation is encouraged. A calendar and a link to subscribe to all upcoming Tools Team calls can be found at

Some background:
We currently have between 300K and 400K minutes of video (around 2.5TB) growing at about 60K minutes (300G) per year.
YouTube shows us that about 600K minutes were streamed in 2024.
We are making sure that we have copies of the recordings stored somewhere other than YouTube.
