    Agreed. But this is *far* beyond the scope of the IETF.


Is it? IETF is founded on DEI principles. If people are unable to contribute from a large part of the world, that is completely in scope for IETF.

Not I disagree with your view. But considering the locations where the IETF regularly meets, the costs of travel + accommodation + registration cost essentially makes it virtually impossible for anyone working for the local markets of most countries in South America or Africa to attend.

I believe everytime this was raised, the response was along the lines of "that's not a problem".
