git's deprecated "whatchanged"

All of my Jenkins pipelines on build nodes with git version "2.51.0.windows.1" are running into this error.  Please consider restoring this functionality.  This is apparently fixed in https://issues.jenkins.io/browse/JENKINS-76017 but we can't upgrade that Git client plugin yet.
