https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2350109 --- Comment #58 from Pramod V U <pramodvu1502@xxxxxxxxx> --- (In reply to Dick Marinus from comment #57) > > Is it possible to amend cronie.spec to `Provides: cron` and make all packages having `Requires: cronie` to instead depend on `cron`? > AND `Provides: cron` in this package too. > > That's up to the maintainer of cronie, I'd suggest to create another > bugzilla report with a feature request for cronie to support multiple cron > daemons in Fedora. This report should be blocked by it. I'll create it. Additionally, I think the tmpfiles.d drop-in meant for `/var/spool/cron` should be handled by the `crontabs` package itself. If I want to suggest that, can I write it in the same bugzilla report as of cronie, or should I do a separate report? I guess the latter... > We also have to take in account that a user can switch back to cronie from > systemd-cron. Of course, that's something which can't be ignored... Steps I am taking: - Adding Conflicts=crond.service to cron.target - Preparing alternatives mechanism for crontab binary and the units if possible. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
