Hi,

Currently libportal in F41 is at 0.8.1. At the end of the last year v0.9.0 was built [1] but the build was abandoned for reason which I don't know.

Does anyone know if there is a reason why libportal should not be updated to >= 0.9.0 in F41?

I tested locally to build all the packages that depends on libportal, which according the "dnf repoquery --qf='%{name}\n' --whatrequires='libportal*'" are:

elementary-calendar
elementary-files
elementary-mail
epiphany-runtime
file-roller
gcolor3
gnome-boxes
gnome-builder
gnome-contacts
gnome-maps
gnome-network-displays
gnome-photos
gnome-todo
input-leap
libportal-devel
libportal-gtk3
libportal-gtk3-devel
libportal-gtk4
libportal-gtk4-devel
libportal-qt5
libportal-qt5-devel
libportal-qt6
libportal-qt6-devel
nautilus
ptyxis
setzer
shotwell
totem

and all built successfully so at least building does not break.

I don't think there is a reason not to do the update in F41. I will just go ahead and do it.

It was actually done already last week. There was just no update submitted for Fedora 41.
