The GNU project `sharutils` raised a question in upstream mailing list if there is still a need for this package. [1]
I identified multiple packages that still depend on sharutils (some of them are crucial for Fedora), so I wanted to raise this question with you and find out if these requirements are really justified or just leftovers from some old forgotten reasons.
