No input from internal microphone on ASUS VivoBook (ALC256, Ubuntu 24.04, kernel 6.15)

Dear ALSA Developers,

I’m reporting an issue with the internal microphone on an ASUS VivoBook
(11th Gen Intel Core i7, Realtek ALC256 codec) running Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.

The internal mic is detected by ALSA and PulseAudio/PipeWire, but no audio
input is captured, even with max gain and boost. I have tested it on both
Ubuntu's default kernel (6.11) and mainline kernel 6.15 — the issue
persists.

ALSA detects the codec, and the input pin (0x12) appears to be present, but
remains silent.

Here is the ALSA info dump:

Ubuntu Launchpad bug report:

If this requires a model-specific quirk or pin fix, I’m happy to test a
patch.

Many thanks,
Anas Pauzi
