I use QR and Barcode scanner (that I see now has not been updated in three years). However, I have used it for QR codes and it works well. I tried it right now on a bar code ona USB-C mobile adapter and it did work. Our phones use CalyxOS and LineageOS (the first on a Pixel 8a and the second on a Pixel 4a5g) with the latter rooted and bootloader unlocked (which is what LineageOS requires). Hope this helps!
