Hi All,

I have been recommending Lenovo's Think Station computer
to customers.   But I really do not like how proprietary
they are.  Repairing them is impossible after the warranty
period expires as Lenovo is the only source of parts
and Lenovo won't sell you parts.

Anyone have a recommendation for a business grade
computers that use generic parts and are very reliable?

Many thanks,

Bit late to the thread. Last two laptops purchased in our family are Lenovo's. One is strictly Linux. The other is Windows 11. Not my choice. :)

Some issues with the Linux laptop. Slowly being worked out.

Before have been an ASUS fan. ASUS has a great after warranty program. A mother board and a laptop repaired for less than replacement.

In the past had issues with AMD video and under the promise of support for AMD, purchased a low end motherboard with AMD graphics to find that AMD didn't support it anymore.

Have always found NVIDIA worked, but with some issues from time to time.

As for generic parts. Is there such a thing?

One ASUS laptop has an issue with the track pad. I have read that there are issues with this brand in Windows as well but have not had time to look into it.

I cannot suggest anything. I feel you look at what will meet your needs till you want to replace the computer. If it is a desktop, you have more options. A laptop is hit and miss if you want new and modern technology, unless they offer a Linux version of the laptop.
