Not sure when they began failing but the virtual are no longer available. $ systemctl status systemd-vconsole-setup ... ...: setfont: ERROR kdfontop.c:212 put_font_kdfontop: \ Unable to load such font with such kernel version ...: /usr/bin/setfont failed with a "system error" (EX_OSERR), ignoring. ...: Setting source virtual console failed, ignoring remaining ones. /etc/vconsole.conf has only 2 lines, currently: KEYMAP="us" FONT="sun12x22.psfu" I tried several fonts, with and without extensions, and eliminating the FONT specification entirely. No success. BTW the above entry matches a laptop running the same release Fedora 42 in which the vconsoles are active. Any suggestions welcomed. Jon -- Jon H.
