You should always get both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses back. $ host smtp.gmail.com smtp.gmail.com has address 66.102.1.109 smtp.gmail.com has IPv6 address 2a00:1450:400c:c06::6d I would have assumed that sendmail(?) will use the IPv6 by preference. If you only see the IPv4 then that sounds like an issue with your DNS somewhere. Barry |
