Fedora does not install nvidia drivers. It was something you
would have done.
With the rpmfusionrepos enabled the appropriate drivers are usually
installed.
You can enabled the rpmfusion repos with gnome, a user action. You can install nvidia drivers from rpmfusion, again a user action.
Was able to force the 470xx driver files which are the ones
for the card. Now I'm getting a conflict as update wants to
install
libnvidia-cfg-3:575.57.08-1.fc41.x86_64
and
fails with it being incompatible with
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-470xx-libs-470.256.02-1.fc41.x86_64
With libnvidia-cfg
excluded the remaining updates were successful.
Curiously
nvidia-persistenced-3:575.57.08-1.fc41.x86_64
was
installed.
You need to dnf remove the nvidia drivers you do not need.
Problem is the drivers for OpenGL to work are not getting properly
installed wit the confusion of the series.
I think you found that tpu need the older mvidia drivers for old hardware. But you had already installed the current driver: which you do not need right? I am saying that you only have one set of driver code installed.
Once you have only one set of driver code i stalled then you may need to force akmods to build the driver for you.
sudo akmods —rebuild —force
