I have started to archive data to BD-R disks. I am just starting this process and have already run into a problem.
I burn the disk and it checks okay. I put the disk into the BD drive and get a notice that the disk is there. If I right click on the BD icon in "Disks and Devices" pop-up, I only have the option to Copy with K3B. No mount option. This is the same on F41 and F42.
I want the option to load the disk as if it is an external USB drive. For my usage, the file manager is not useful for my purposes. I have looked through the settings to see if I can make a change but cannot find out how it is done. It looks like I will have to figure this out for data DVDs as well.
Also, there is no method to unmount the drive in the "Disks and Devices" menu until another device is added. I did find a very old bug for no display to unmount the drive that was fixed.

I don't want automount. Only suggestion I could find was to install a Gnome disk tool.
Can you mount and unmount from the command line?
If you cannot that will likely provide useful information,
In logs and dmesg.

More info.
I don't see any info in dmesg when I put the blu-ray into the drive. I
have tried multiple times.
I put the disk into the drive while running journalctl -f I don't get
any message in the logs. I still get a popup on the display
Disks & Devices
BD-R icon on the left
Open in File Manager on the right
Right click on the BD-R icon and get a drop down that says "Copy with
K3B" and nothing else.
Just removing the disk gives these messages in the journal window.

This is a luks formatted file system.
If I click on the Open with File manager I get a message
kded6[5197]: QWindow::fromWinId(): platform plugin does not support
foreign windows.
I get a popup to enter the password.
Enter password and disk is mounted at /run/media/{user}/{disk label}
From the journal
udisksd[1942]: Unlocked device /dev/sr0 as /dev/dm-6
udisksd[1942]: Mounted /dev/dm-6 at /run/media/{user}/{disk label}
Disks & Devices still says to "Open with File Manager"
When I click on it, it opens Kate. After some searching I found out
that the file manager is Krusader. I just don't use a GUI file manager.
Using the Krusader Unmount button didn't unmount the drive.
Had to unmount the drive and close the luks partition from the command line.
From the journal logs, it looks like I am looking at udisks configuration.
Still doesn't answer why KDE Plasma doesn't offer a mount option.
